Registration Open for Fall 2015 Lava Dance Retreat

springdancecropHello beautiful being,

The registration page for signing up for Fall Lava is ready to go and awaiting your happy fingers to fill in your names! You’ll find it easily on our website LiveatLava.com

As before our price is $90 for the whole weekend, and bring a friend for $80.

Dates: Nov 13-15, 2015
Location: Lava Hot Springs, Idaho in the Senior Center

We do have two little changes:

  1. One is that I will send out a coupon for a discount price next week. I’m not doing it today because I have to figure out how to do it first (smile). This also gives everyone time to look at your calendars and make your choice to come. So if you need a discount just hang on and I’ll get you one here right quick.
  2. Second is that we will have a price increase in the last few weeks before camp. Everyone tells me that this will help get people signed up early so that our lives are a bit less stressful and chaotic at the end. So I’m hoping everyone  helps me out with this. I’ll also announce the dates and extra costs next week.

Healthy Longevity

I’ve been reading about a new, and quite extensive, study on the types of life situations that lead to a long and happy life called “Blue Zones.” These zones are areas where people live to be over 100 regularly, and some very insightful teams have been going into these areas in the hopes of discovering the secret.

One of their most important findings is that having a faith based community greatly increases lifespan. In fact, having a faith based community in itself added something like seventeen years to a person’s life!

Yep! We’ve got that!

The loving community of the Lava dance camp has been meeting for years, and we are all over the place. I totally agree that having a faith based community is one of the most important things for us as humans. According to this study, it didn’t matter what kind of community – only that you have it.

And I don’t think it’s just hocus pocus either. I think it’s the real, tangible, things we give to each other while at camp, and in our communications between, that lead to the benefits.

Sometimes it’s not a little thing. Just last weekend our beautiful registrar Diane was on a motorcycle ride with a friend in Yellowstone park and caught in a huge storm. She was able to pull over to the side of the road, and drenched and freezing, get in contact with the closest dancers in Jackson Hole. We were all sending messages on Facebook, and making phone calls to help her out. And next thing we knew they were warm and dry and sleeping safe and sound in the protection of  Chris and Donna’s house. Saved, happy and fed. That’s real life stuff for sure!

So come dance with us!

Come make music with us this fall and get to know the gang, or come and reconnect with beloveds from the past. We don’t care what kind of faith based community we are either! It is our joy to embrace all faiths and people.

See you all soon,

Zareen
