We also have an event in Lava Hot Springs at the end of July, and in Hamilton Montana in September.

What We Do

No experience or partner needed in the Dances of Universal Peace. Each dance is taught in place: we are given a short song, easy steps, and the meaning (or attunement) of what we are doing. We set up the song and then go. It’s as easy as that. You become the musical instrument in a circle of fellow human beings. We can do songs from native sources, Christianity, Judaism, eastern Sufi sources and more. Often they are inspiring poems.

The magic is the circle. Each person (you included) is what creates the magic. Humans evolved singing and celebrating in circle dance. As soon as you step into the circle you’ll know you are home.

From Zareen: My goal for this camp is to provide an inexpensive space where we can all come together, sing dance, and also dive deeper into new possibilities. We will explore things we haven’t really thought about such as: How science and spirituality intersect, the conditioned mind and community issues, the non-dual wisdom of Turtle Island. Most important is how we use this time to recreate ourselves into co-creating relatives of the world rather than individual consumers. The overall vision is to come alive in new ways and jumpstart a dynamic participation in life that transforms the world… in other words: Sam Lewis’s Peace Project.

What’s it Like?

Dancing with us is like joining a tribe. When we first come together we often don’t know each other’s name, but become immediate brothers and sisters. The camp is held by elder wisdom with experienced leaders who have been doing this for over thirty years. Often something new like this can be uncomfortable, but we know how to bring you in with a smooth transition from aloneness to togetherness. There is an essence in every human being that yearns for togetherness. We use our feet, simple music and ancient wisdom to create a moving space of heart.

Along the Wild Salmon River

Salmon Idaho is exactly in the middle of nowhere in central Idaho. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to be. We are about an hour and a half south of Missoula, an hour and a half westish from Idaho Falls, and about five hours north of Boise.

Here is a view of the our tent set up on the Hyde Creek ranch. Beautiful grass, beautiful trees… a great place to dance.

Type us into Google maps and you’ll be able to plot a path to get here. We’ve compiled a list of motels, food sources and travel information for you!

Where to Stay?

We will be dancing five miles south of Salmon Idaho. There is lots of room for camping and there are motels nearby in town to stay.

Food and Lodging

Camp is not providing food or lodging. Restaurants, grocery stores, and motels are in town a few miles from our dance location. Camping is a great option. There is lots of room to camp near the tent. Bring your own camping gear and kitchen items. Water is available and electricity will be solar (electric plugins are available nearby in the ranch shop).

Plenty of room for tents, RVs and Car camping.

Our dance location has plenty of room for tents, car camping and RV’s. Bring your camp kitchen and have a nice wilderness experience with us along the wild Salmon River.

We have a large field to park and camp in. If you want to camp near your car there is also room for that.

The large parking area has lots of room for RVs and vans. There is no shade for a vehicle, but it’s not that hot here in Salmon yet.

There is no electricity available.

The water out of the spigot in the lawn is potable. You’ll need a longish hose if you need to fill your RV

Showers are available at Connie and Wayne’s house in town and in the basement of the garage at the ranch. We are also assembling a solar shower (a few glitches have been encountered)

Connie and Wayne have two RV spots at our house if you need more facilities. One spot has water, electricity and sewer. The other has water and electricity.

Mike has a lovely little stream running through his property, lined with trees. There is lots of room to set up tents up in the trees along the stream.

This is a working ranch. Dogs are welcome if they are ALWAYS on a leash.

Mike has his own dogs, and he also has chickens, ducks and the like.

We know your dog is lovely and wonderful, but they will be a guest in another dog’s territory and the leash makes everyone happy.

We’ve put together a page with information on getting your camping gear together.
