Lava Hot Springs Dance Camp
July 16 @ 12:30 pm – July 19 @ 12:30 pm
13293 S Smith Canyon Road, Lava Hot Springs Idaho – Flyer to share – Facebook
Come celebrate harmony and movement with the Dances of Universal Peace in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. This year we are coming back to this lovely town full of hot springs and a blossoming spiritual community in southern Idaho.
Our dance event is in July when camping is great. We’ll be dancing in our thirty foot tent on our new dance pad up in the cool trees at Kim’s cabin. Lots of camping spots are available on the property, and the town is full of great small motels for those who like a comfy bed. Come enjoy community in song and music for four days.
Still only $50 per person for 2026!
The Dances of Universal Peace are a powerful practice to find our true joyous being in community. These simple dances are inspired by the many spiritual traditions of the world. No experience or partner needed! Each dance and song is simple and taught as we go.
This type of dance is magic because it can’t be done without you! Finally a practice that doesn’t have you as a spectator! You will be right in the circle with a group of loving humans creating music while we move.
In the Dances of Universal Peace you are the music. We all sing and move together. Nothing else is needed.
Partial Attendance?
You are welcome to attend partial days. Donations accepted at camp… or just come try it out.
Locals come free. Get coupons for locals or partial attendance here.
Note: Tcket transfers are not necessary. Each ticket must be bought through our processor. If you can’t come all refunds will come from Mystic Dance.
Musicians

Dance Location
We’ll be dancing in our tent this year up in the trees on Smith Canyon Road: 13293 S Smith Canyon Road. Food and lodging is not included in the retreat price, but we have great places to camp and can help you set up.
Here’s our lovely tent spot all ready to go!
How to get there
If you need any help planning your travels to Lava Hot Springs please check out the Lava Chamber of Commerce.
Flying into the Salt lake Airport is usually an easy flight from anywhere because it is a hub airport. The Salt Lake Express will bring you up to McCammon and we can help arrange a ride up to Lava (approx 20 miles). They have super comfortable busses with easy schedules and will pick you up right at the airport.
Here’s a link to the shuttle site. To see their rates and schedules choose to go from Salt Lake City (airport) UT to McCammon (Exit 47) ID. https://saltlakeexpress.com/

Driving
Lava Hot Springs is south of Idaho Falls/Pocatello, and north of Salt Lake city off of I25.
Turn East at McCammon to US 30. 11 minute drive.

Camp on Site

We are camping up in the cool trees in Smith Canyon. There is lots of room for tent and car camping. Space for RVs is limited. It’s a bit tight to turn around. If you have a big rig, or want hookups, we recommend Smith’s Trout Haven just a few miles away.
The well at the location is not working, so bring your own water. We’ll have a solar shower available. Best showers and bathing is down in the hot pools in town! It’s hot in the day, but delightfully cool in the evenings after our last dance session.
Cars/Vans: Plan on your spot not being exactly flat. You’ll be able to get level for sleeping if you have some leveling blocks. Lots of shade in the trees.
Tents: Your tent will likely be not exactly flat… so plan for your own comfort. Plenty of spots in the cool shade.
Motel: One of our best recommendations for a motel in Lava is the Auro Soma Lava Hotel & Spa. It’s the location of the labrynth, and if you stay there you get to soak in their most amazing pool.

Cabin Rooms:
There are five rooms available in Kim’s cabin. It’s rustic and the running water is not working at this time. But it’s an adventure! The toilet can flush with carted-in. The shower also drains. It’s a rustic cabin. You must book your spot with Zareen and Wayne. Bring your own bedding.
Motels
Lava has many motels to choose from. The Chamber of Commerce website for Lava has listings of all the local motels. http://www.lavahotsprings.org
There is a full service RV campground a few miles from camp: Smiths Trout Haven
We recommend the Auro Soma Lava Hotel & Spa. The motel complex that used to be called Auro Soma, with the big private hot pool, is now the Lava hotel. https://thelavahotel.com/. If you stay there you get free use of the private pool.
Food
All meals are do-it-yourself. You’ll discover that everyone loves to share and eat together. There are restaurants in town and we’ll have plenty of room near the tent for camping kitchens. Bring your own water.
Hope to see you soon!
