Eat, Dance and Pray Together
Celebrating Change and Choice!
It feels so wonderful as the heat of summer is cooling down – at least here in Idaho. We hope you are cool and comfortable as well. We are only two months from meeting together to dance again in Lava Hot Springs.
We just heard that our beloved cook, Daphne, will not be cooking for us this fall. She’ll be back next spring… but we need to come up with another plan for the “eating together” part of our retreat.
I’ve been tossing around the idea of switching our retreat to follow the model that Bernie and Sky use… everyone just brings their own food and it all seems to work out. We have a bit of a problem, though, because we aren’t camping out. We would be sharing cooking facilities, or cooking in motel rooms. There are wonderful restaurants we could gather at in the town of Lava. But…
There are plusses and minuses in making that change. On one side, it would feel wonderful to come into the retreat, not have to carry in and cook all that food, not have to clean the kitchen, and just have fun dancing! It would be very interesting to let each person decide their own food reality. On the other hand we would miss sitting down and eating together in the great room so much!
So we have decided to look for another cook for November.

Also, we would love to hear your ideas and suggestions as usual. This is “our” retreat and we value the input of our family.
Parliament of World Religions
It’s only one month until many of us are meeting at the Parliament of World Religions. We have a large group gathering there, we have rented a booth at the convention center, and we have even been nominated for POWR Cultivation of Harmony Award! So we are definitely spreading the dances.
