Does Dancing for Peace Work?

That’s a big question and we would love to hear your answers. You can reply to this email and I’ll post it online. Or go ahead and post yourself on our Facebook page.

For me? Of course I think dancing for peace works! I’ve noticed that the negative seems to accumulate. It’s kind of like dust around the house. If you don’t stop occasionally and clean things up, then the grime grows. There are many spiritual practices that we can do by ourselves that brighten and cheer us. But ultimately we are community creatures and peace is a function of the way we come together. So when we take hands in the circle, and move our feet and voices together in joy, harmony and love – then we are creating a bright and clean level of peace that is tangible.

Think of that feeling when we walk out of the hall and back into the world after each retreat. That is each of us going back into our lives with a fullness of peace and love that gets shared like radiation.

Post Pictures on Facebook

Does anyone have any good pictures of dancing? Either at Lava or in your home community. We would love to hear from you (and see you) on our Facebook page.

Health Fair

The Lava team is putting together a special community outreach this Fall. On Saturday we are going to have a health fair (hopefully in the parking lot) to attract local vendors and participants. We are also making space available for our usual bazaar, and if all goes well we will have many happy new faces for dancing and sharing. We’ll keep everyone informed of the details as it comes together.

It’s going to be great and hope to see you soon.
