Yes! It’s happening!

Hi All,

Thanks for your amazing outpouring of support in our efforts to fund a booth for the Dances of Universal Peace at the Parliament of World Religions. In less than a day we raised over six hundred dollars! That’s just the first Paypal payments, and doesn’t count the pledged checks that are being sent in the mail as we speak. So we are well on our way to reaching our $1500 goal.

We are starting to design the booth and are thinking of a comfortable place to sit and play music, lots of flags, twinkling lights, media players for videos and music to play. It’s going to be a wonderful place to hang out, rest, have a cup of tea, distribute flyers, and engage with new people during the convention. Hands of the Heart booth will be right next to us selling hearts with wings ceramics.

Creating a public dance in Salt Lake

Our next task is to put together a public dance in Salt Lake on Wednesday Oct 14th, the evening before the Parliament starts.  There are over 60 dancers committed to attending POWR (half are dance leaders!) – so we already have a great circle. This will be an amazing field of energy to welcome new dancers from the area. Melissa is currently talking with Utah Pride to see about a donated dance space and we are also looking for something bigger and closer to the Convention Center.

  • Does anyone have any contacts in the area who could help us find a place to dance?
  • Do you have any lists or Facebook pages that you could post the event to once we get it set up?
  • Anyone willing to put up posters?
  • Anyone have contacts with local businesses where we could mail posters?
  • Yes – this dance will be open to everyone, no registration at POWR needed.
