Each dance is taught in place: we are given a short song\, easy steps and the meaning (or attunement) of what we are doing. Then we move! We use our feet\, simple music and ancient wisdom to create a moving space of heart. \n\n\n\nIt doesn’t matter what you wear… just as long as you are there! \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSupport Community Connections and Homestead Organic Farm\n\n\n\nDonation appreciated. SUMMARY:Troncones Mexico
DESCRIPTION:Registration Page here:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here for link to flyer. \n\n\n\nTRONCONES MEXICO DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE\n\n\n\nWelcome to “Flowing Gratitude in Calm Abiding” Troncones\, Mexico\, February 4th thru February 8th. \n\n\n\nIF YOU HAVEN’T REGISTERED HERE IS A LINK TO THE REGISTRATION PAGE. We would like to suggest a few things that might make your trip and visit to Troncones more pleasant. \n\n\n\nTroncones is a small\, relatively undeveloped coastal village located about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Zihuatanejo\, offering a distinctively laid-back\, tranquil\, and authentic Mexican flavor. It maintains a small-town aesthetic with palm trees and hammocks common\, and loud nightlife is minimal\, making for very quiet evenings. It’s known for its beautiful\, uncrowded beaches\, stunning sunsets\, and year-round surf breaks\, attracting surfers and relaxation-seekers alike. \n\n\n\n\nShort-Term Rentals: Widely available and range from small guesthouses and eco-hostels to luxury beachfront villas\, condos\, and apartments. Many properties cater to tourists looking for short stays\, with options bookable through various rental platforms and directly with owners.\n\n\n\nRestaurants: The town punches above its weight with a delightful array of restaurants. Dining options include high-quality gourmet cuisine\, fresh-caught seafood\, international fare (including Italian and Argentinian)\, and delicious authentic Mexican dishes. Many establishments are beachfront\, offering stunning views.\n\n\n\nGroceries: The town has a few small convenience stores for basic necessities. There are also local vendors for fresh produce\, fish\, and handmade tortillas available daily. For larger grocery hauls\, nearby Zihuatanejo provides more urban options.\n\n\n\nMusic: The music scene is limited but present\, especially during the October-May high season. Beachfront bars and restaurants occasionally feature live music or special events like dance parties and movie nights.\n\n\n\n\nIn short\, Troncones is the place for an authentic\, peaceful beach vacation with excellent food and a focus on nature and surfing. \n\n\n\nPassports\n\n\n\nFirst and foremost\, please check your passports and make sure they haven’t expired. There is nothing more surprising than finding out that it has expired\, and you don’t have time to renew it.  There are a few ways to expedite a new passport and with a little research you can find out how. \n\n\n\nTravel\n\n\n\nIf you’re flying\, you will be flying into the Zihuatanejo International Airport\, which is located on Highway 200 a few miles south of Zihuatanejo. Troncones is about 41km north on Hwy 200. \n\n\n\nOnce you have booked your travel tickets to Zihuatanejo\, please fill out this Arrival Information Form. This form will tell us when to expect you. The form allows for arrival by plane\, bus or private auto. Then you can look at the Arrival Response Sheet to find people who are arriving in Zihuatanejo around the same time as you to begin to arrange ride shares to camp\, if that is something you would like to do. \n\n\n\nNOTE: You will only be able to view this sheet\, no changes can be made. If you find that your travel information has changed\, please fill out the Arrival Information Form again with your new information\, then contact me to delete your original input at wayne.talmadge@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nYou should also make sure that ALL your luggage is identified with your name\, address and telephone number in case of unforeseen incidents. \n\n\n\nBefore you land at the airport you will be presented with a Customs Declaration Form which will ask for your Name\, Nationality\, how many days in Mexico\, etc. You must fill it out in Black or Blue ink. You will then present that to the Customs Agent at the airport. \n\n\n\nPesos\n\n\n\nYou should probably have some local currency when you arrive. I understand that credit cards are accepted at some of the restaurants and businesses in Troncones\, but I don’t know how readily they are accepted throughout Troncones. When you get pesos\, you should get some in smaller denominations of 20-\, 10-\, 5-\, 2- and 1- peso notes or coins. There are several ways to acquire pesos: \n\n\n\n*_There are money exchange kiosks at the airport\, but exchange rate may not be as good as what your bank at home may offer you. \n\n\n\n*_Most people opt to get some pesos at a bank prior to traveling. Most banks require that you have an account with them before you can order your currency. Check the exchange rate and admin fees for the best rate. It usually takes the bank several days to get your currency. \n\n\n\n*_There is only one ATM in Troncones. It is located 2 blocks NE on the main road coming into Troncones. The ATMs in Mexico can be a little quirky and have a habit of running out of cash. So be prepared and bring enough with you. \n\n\n\nTo find out the current exchange rate\, just google USD to Peso. The rate has fluctuated since Donald Trump has been in office and the exchange rate has dropped and as of this writing it is between 16 to 18 pesos to the dollar. If you’re staying at Casa Norely they do prefer their payment in Pesos. \n\n\n\nTransportation\n\n\n\nOnly approved Taxis are allowed on the airport premises. As you leave the airport you will find the taxis lined up outside of the main door. The cost to take the taxi to Troncones is about 1500 MEX. ($80 USD). Prices may have changed since last year. There are other transport services available\, and you can find them at this link. (Taxi Services) \n\n\n\nThere are no buses that have stops in Troncones. However\, you can catch a bus in downtown Zihuatanejo. A taxi driver should know where the bus stops are. The bus will drop you off where the main road to Troncones meets Hwy 200. You need to find the bus that goes as far as LaUnion. Do not take a bus going to Pantla or Buena Vista as they won’t take you as far as Troncones. It is said that there is a van service from the junction of Hwy 200 and Acceso A Playa Troncones. It is about 5 miles into Troncones. \n\n\n\nThere are car rentals available at the airport as well: \n\n\n\n*-Fox Rent A Car has an office at the airport. You can find them at foxrentacar.com If you have to\, search Locations > Mexico > Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. \n\n\n\n*_Europcar Renta de Autos Ixtapa Aeropuerto. They also have an office at the airport. +528002012084 \n\n\n\n*-Find more options at Rental Cars \n\n\n\nLodging\n\n\n\nIf you have not yet booked your lodging there is a list of possible lodging and accommodations listed here. The accommodations at Casa Norely and Casa Escondida\, where the retreat will be held\, fill up fast but there are still some rooms available. Please contact wayne.talmadge@gmail.com as soon as possible. Otherwise you will need to make your own arrangements using the information found at the lodging site. \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nThe Flowing Gratitude in Calm Abiding begins on Wednesday\, February 4th with an after dance dinner provided by Las Bendiciones. The last dance will be on the morning of Sunday\, February 8th followed by brunch provided by Las Bendiciones. The week will be based around the following schedule from last year. THE SCHEDULE WILL MOST LIKELY CHANGE SOMEWHAT AS WE GET CLOSER TO CAMP\, SO STAY TUNED \n\n\n\n\nWednesday –\n\n1 pm – Gathering and check-in at the sala at Casa Escondida\n\n\n\n4:30 pm – Opening Circle and Dance\n\n\n\nGroup Dinner – Dinner will be provided Las Bendiciones\, \n\n\n\n\n\nThursday – Saturday\n\n9:30 am – Morning Dance\n\n\n\nAfternoon Offerings as they arise\n\n\n\n4:30 pm – Afternoon Dance\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday\n\n9:30 am – Closing Circle and Dance\n\n\n\nBrunch – Food will be provided Las Bendiciones\, \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCommunication \n\n\n\nIf you haven’t already done so\, please make sure WhatsApp is installed on your phone. This will be one of the ways that we will be communicating at Camp. It’s a wonderful tool that can be useful in so many ways. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* If you are reading this on your phone\, simply open this link\n\n\n\n* IF you are reading this on your computer\, simply grab your phone and using your phones camera\, scan this QR Code\n\n\n\n* You will be added to the WhatsApp group and you will be able to communicate with everyone in the Troncones 2026 group.\n\n\n\n* Please say HELLO when you join the group. You won’t be able to see your own name when you post\, but everyone else will see your name.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFinal Thoughts \n\n\n\nCOVID: If you’re attending camp\, please be aware that Covid is still a virus that is going around. Pay attention to your interactions for the 10 days prior to arriving at camp and if you’re not feeling well\, please take a Covid Test to be sure you’re not carrying it into Camp. \n\n\n\nIf you arrive at camp after traveling and you’re not feeling well\, DO NOT JOIN THE CIRCLE. Please take a Covid Test and quarantine yourself until you know you feel 100% well and you’re Covid free. Then you may wear a mask or sit outside the circle and watch if you choose. If you can\, please bring extra covid tests to donate to camp. \n\n\n\nFRAGRANCE FREE: Some of the folks attending this camp are sensitive to fragrances. Most perfumes\, essential oils\, body lotions\, suntan lotions and shampoos can keep some dancers from being able to stand in the circle. Let’s be conscious and loving\, thanks. \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION / FEES: Registration is open and you may register right up until camp begins on February 4th. Registration Fees can be paid right up until camp using PayPal Friends and Family\, Venmo or Wise. If you’re paying by check\, please mail checks to Wayne Talmadge\, 216 Stevens Ave\, Salmon\, Idaho 83467 to BE RECIEVED NO LATER than January 28\, 2026. If you must\, you can pay with a check at the beginning of camp on February 4th. Just find Wayne when you arrive in Troncones. \n\n\n\nNOTE: I am registrar for several camps. When paying by PayPal\, Venmo or Wise PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH CAMP YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR. Otherwise\, I must search each registration page for your name. Thank You!! \n\n\n\nCANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS: If you choose to cancel\, you may up to December 31\, 2025\, for a full refund. After that date we will return all except $125. The Salmon Wild River Camp is led by fabulous Dances of Universal Peace leaders from Idaho\, Montana… and even Tennessee this year! This diverse team will carry us through the many spiritual traditions of the world in the ancient practice of community circle dance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Do\n\n\n\nNo experience or partner needed. Each dance is taught in place: we are given a short song\, easy steps\, and the meaning (or attunement) of what we are doing. We do songs from a wide variety of sources: native\, Christianity\, Judaism or eastern Sufi practices. Often they are simple chants or inspiring poems. \n\n\n\nThe magic is the circle. Each person (you included) is what creates the magic. Humans evolved singing and celebrating in circle dance. As soon as you step into the circle you’ll know you are home. \n\n\n\nMusicians\n\n\n\nAs you arrive at camp please let us know about your musicianship! We coordinate acoustic musicians into our dance sessions. You’ll want to play with us! We’ll also have a dance/music jam in the afternoons. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYes… the camp is very inexpensive. This is because we love what we do. This is not about making money\, but about coming together. plus\, we don’t have to pay for our tent location\, lodging/camping/food is on your own — and we need you! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere is Salmon?\n\n\n\nWe are dancing in Salmon\, Idaho along the Continental Divide in Central Idaho. We have a 30 foot round tent which is a magical place to camp. There is lots of room for camping nearby\, and there are motels nearby in town to stay. \n\n\n\nCamping Can Be Fun… click to learn more. \n\n\n\nFrom Zareen: My goal for this camp is to provide an inexpensive space where we can all come together\, sing\, dance\, and dive deeper into new possibilities. Perhaps things we haven’t really thought about\, such as: How science and spirituality intersect\, the conditioned mind and community issues\, the non-dual wisdom of Turtle Island. We honor the importance of giving indigenous people space to recreate themselves after generations of trauma rather than appropriating ceremonies we don’t understand. Most importantly\, how we use this time to also recreate ourselves into co-creating relatives of the world rather than individual consumers. The overall vision is to come alive in new ways and jumpstart a dynamic participation in life that transforms the world… in other words: Sam Lewis’s Peace Project. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout our dates and location\n\n\n\nOur event location opens up on Wednesday the 21st\, and stays available through Monday. So we can come early and stay late. You are certainly welcome to arrive on Wednesday June 21st and get set up for camp. We’ll be finishing the tent setup on Wednesday and have a jam in the tent. Although the last dance will be on Sunday morning of June 25th\, you are welcome to stay and play until Monday. \n\n\n\nPartial Attendance?\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to attend partial days. Get coupon codes for partial day discounts by copy/pasting the following URL into a new tab: https://mysticdancecaravan.com/c \n\n\n\nFood and Lodging is not provided by your camp registration… but don’t worry. Everything you’ll need is nearby. \n\n\n\nFood\n\n\n\nBring your own camping gear and kitchen items. Water is available and electricity will be solar (electric plugins are available nearby in the ranch shop). \n\n\n\nShopping & Restaurants\n\n\n\nThere are lots of places for food in Salmon\, these are our favorites. \n\n\n\n\nHarvest Grocery: A small organic grocery store on Main Street. They are open on Sundays. On Main Street\, in a brick building on the south side. \n\n\n\nSaveway Market: Is really the only grocery store in Salmon. Drive into town and they are at the first stop light. They are Western Family and have a great selection of organic these days. Good vegetable section. Warning: Store is completely closed on Sunday!\n\n\n\nGood Fellows Bakery: A fantastic artisan bakery. Great lunches. Amazing bread. Main street\, north side.\n\n\n\nBertram’s Brewery: Great lunches\, dinners and home brew. South side of Main Street. \n\n\n\nNature’s Pantry: Health Food store. Closed Sunday\,\n\n\n\nCountry Store: Up on the “Bar Hill” on Courthouse Drive: Local milk\, eggs\, cheese and yogurt.\n\n\n\nFarmer’s Market Saturday morning: in the park by the bridge.\n\n\n\n\nLodging\n\n\n\nThere is lots of room to camp near the tent. Lots of room for campers and RVs. No hookups. Good motels are in town approx. 5 miles from where we camp (Salmon is small). \n\n\n\nTwo small rooms are available on the ranch\, and there are three rooms available in Wayne and Connie’s house in town. Each room is an additional $200 per person\, for all four days. \n\n\n\nTo reserve these rooms text Wayne: 208-756-8137 \n\n\n\nOther Lodging in Salmon\, approx 5 miles\n\n\n\n\nStagecoach Inn: This is the nicest motel in town. It’s right on the river and an easy drive to the tent location.  It’s $100+ a night. Website 208-756-2919\n\n\n\nSuper 8: This motel is also quite close\, and lots cheaper. Website 208-756-8880\n\n\n\nAndrea’s RV Park. They are right on the river and have RV hookups. They also have one small “hostel” cabin. Website 208-756-2063\n\n\n\nRiver Front Inn… I think that’s the new name… Used to be Wagons West and that’s how you find it on Google. Very cheap motel\, but right on the river and nice folks. It’s only cheap because the building is really old. 208-756-4281. Waiting for them to call back with rates.\n\n\n\nBear Country Inn: Down on Main Street. A new motel. $70 and up. http://bearcountryinnsalmon.com 208-756-1499\n\n\n\nSacajawea Inn: I think this is the cheapest motel\, or equal to River Front Inn. It’s not trashy. This motel is on the south side of Salmon\, so it is the shortest drive to the tent spot. Nice people. 208-756-2294 (I think)\n\n\n\n\nFind the Dance\n\n\n\nWe’ll be dancing in our 30′ tent. Bring your own chair. There isn’t lots of room to have chairs for everyone in the tent\, but lots of room outside in the meadow. It may be cool in June but we have a stove for our tent. If it’s cool we can also build a nice outdoor fire for evenings. We’ll post more pictures as we get some work done on the spot. \n\n\n\n\n\nBelow is a satellite shot of the Hyde Ranch where we will be dancing. This is a special spot this year as the owner\, Mike\, is a vital member of progressive groups in Salmon. He is a Salmon native\, and will help us bring Salmon folks out for dancing. We will be adding a lot of music\, fun and love into his life\, and he’ll be creating a firm foundation for our retreat. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeading into the tent… ready to dance! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\n$50 per person. Further donations for dance leaders are appreciated. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nPlease sign up early!!! \n\n\n\nConnie & Wayne are Registrars. Dancing with us is like joining a tribe. When we first come together we often don’t know each other’s name\, but become immediate brothers and sisters. The camp is held by elder wisdom with experienced leaders who have been doing this for over thirty years. Often something new like this can be uncomfortable\, but we know how to bring you in with a smooth transition from aloneness to togetherness. There is an essence in every human being that yearns for togetherness. We use our feet\, simple music and ancient wisdom to create a moving space of heart. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCome dance with us. The minute you step into the circle you come home to your heart. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to register for Salmon 2023
