SUMMARY:Salmon Idaho Dance Camp
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for four days of dancing and music in central Idaho. The Salmon Wild River Camp is led by fabulous Dances of Universal Peace leaders from Idaho\, Montana and beyond. This diverse team will carry us through the many spiritual traditions of the world in the ancient practice of community circle dance. \n\n\n\nStill only $50 per person!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Salmon ID\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCamping is fun!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe use AllEvents for registration because it gets you signed up in one easy step and they help us get the word out locally. If you can’t do this please send an email to mysticdancecaravan at gmail dot com. \n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for camp:\n\n\n\nPowered by \n\n\n\n—– \n\n\n\n\nClick here to book if you don’t see the form above\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Do\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo experience or partner needed in the Dances of Universal Peace. Each dance is taught in place: we are given a short song\, easy steps\, and the meaning (or attunement) of what we are doing. We set up the song and then go. It’s as easy as that. You become a musical instrument in a circle of fellow human beings. We do songs and chants from native sources\, Christianity\, Judaism\, eastern Sufi sources and more. \n\n\n\nThe magic is the circle. Humans evolved singing and celebrating in circle dance. As soon as you step into the circle you’ll know you are home. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom Zareen: My goal for this camp is to provide an inexpensive space where we can all come together\, sing dance\, and dive deeper into new possibilities. We will explore things we haven’t really thought about such as: How science and spirituality intersect\, the conditioned mind and community issues\, the non-dual wisdom of Turtle Island. Most important is how we use this time to recreate ourselves into co-creating relatives of the world rather than individual consumers. The overall vision is to come alive in new ways and jumpstart a dynamic participation in life that transforms the world… in other words: Sam Lewis’s Peace Project. \n\n\n\n(Learn more about Zareen at MaPremZareen.com) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s it Like? \n\n\n\nDancing with us is instant belonging. When we first come together we often don’t know each other’s name\, but become immediate brothers and sisters. The camp is held by experienced leaders who have been doing this for over thirty years. Often something new like this can be uncomfortable\, but we know how to bring you in with a smooth transition from aloneness to togetherness. We use our feet\, simple music and ancient wisdom to create a moving space of heart. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Salmon Idaho\n\n\n\n\nAlong the Wild Salmon River\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere is a view of the our tent set up on the Hyde Creek ranch. Beautiful grass\, beautiful trees… a great place to dance. \n\n\n\nSalmon Idaho is exactly in the middle of nowhere in central Idaho. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to be. We are about an hour and a half south of Missoula\, an hour and a half westish from Idaho Falls\, and about five hours north of Boise. \n\n\n\nType us into Google maps and you’ll be able to plot a path to get here. We’ve compiled a list of motels\, food sources and travel information for you! \n\n\n\n\n\nWhere to Stay?\n\n\n\nWe will be dancing five miles south of Salmon Idaho. There is lots of room for camping on site and there are motels nearby in town to stay. \n\n\n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\n\nCamp is not providing food or lodging. Restaurants\, grocery stores\, and motels are in town a few miles from our dance location. Bring your own cooking gear and kitchen items. Water is available and electricity will be solar (electric plugins are available nearby in the ranch shop). \n\n\n\n* Click here for a page about Salmon. See where we dance\, and all food and lodging options. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCamping\n\n\n\n\nPlenty of room for tents\, RVs and Car camping. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur dance location has plenty of room for tents\, car camping and RV’s. Bring your camp kitchen and have a nice wilderness experience with us along the wild Salmon River. \n\n\n\nWe have a large field to park and camp in. If you want to camp near your car there is also room for that.  \n\n\n\nThe large parking area has lots of room for RVs and vans. There is no shade for a vehicle\, but it’s not that hot here in Salmon in June.  \n\n\n\nThere is no electricity available. \n\n\n\nThe water out of the spigot in the lawn is potable. You’ll need a longish hose if you need to fill your RV. \n\n\n\nShowers are available at Connie and Wayne’s house in town and in the basement of the garage at the ranch. We are also assembling a solar shower. \n\n\n\nConnie and Wayne have two RV spots at our house if you need more facilities. One spot has water\, electricity and sewer. The other has water and electricity.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMike has a lovely little stream running through his property\, lined with trees. There is lots of room to set up tents up in the trees along the stream. \n\n\n\nThis is a working ranch. Dogs are welcome if they are ALWAYS on a leash. \n\n\n\nMike has his own dogs\, and he also has chickens\, ducks and the like.  \n\n\n\nWe know your dog is lovely and wonderful\, but they will be a guest in another dog’s territory and the leash makes everyone happy. \n\n\n\nWe’ve put together a page with information on getting your camping gear together. \n\n\n\n* Camping can be fun! Click here for a page about getting your gear together. \n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNeed Encouragement? \n\n\n\nWe’d love to talk with you and encourage you to try something new. You’ll be delighted you did. Text Wayne and he’ll call you back: 208 756-8137 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMusicians \n\n\n\nAcoustic musicians are welcome. As you arrive at camp please let us know about your musicianship! We coordinate various instruments into our dance sessions. You’ll want to play with us! We’ll also have a dance/music jam in the afternoons. \n\n\n\n\n\nIs It Really Fifty Bucks? \n\n\n\nYes… the camp is very inexpensive. This is because we love what we do. This is not about making money\, but about coming together. plus\, we don’t have to pay for our tent location\, lodging/camping/food is on your own — and we need you! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPartial Attendance? \n\n\n\nLocals can come free for any session. Everyone is welcome to attend partial days. \n\n\n\nUse these coupons to sign up: \n\n\n\nLOCAL – gives you 100% discount for locals. \n\n\n\nHALF – gives you 50% discount for partial camp. Good choice for those coming for partial days. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\nAbout our dates and location \n\n\n\nOur event location opens up on Wednesday and stays available through Monday. SUMMARY:Kirtan in Hamilton at open ended
DESCRIPTION:Kirtan is a yoga practice of simple call-and-response chants to calm the mind and access our true inner nature. Many call it a path of devotion… we focus on ‘who’ is in this state of devotion and how our true nature is constantly in unity. \n\n\n\nSinging together is a simple way to lift us all in harmony and community. Zareen and Wayne bring the chant to life with guitar\, drums and vocal harmony in a universal attunement to traditions around the world. \n\n\n\n\nTo be notified of upcoming events please join the Hamilton MT Kirtan email list on this page: https://www.openendedexa.com/kirtan-opt-in \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKirtan starts at 6 followed by snacks and community.

The Salt Lake Express will bring you up to McCammon and we can help arrange a ride up to Lava (approx 20 miles). They have super comfortable busses with easy schedules and will pick you up right at the airport. \n\n\n\nHere’s a link to the shuttle site. To see their rates and schedules choose to go from Salt Lake City (airport) UT to McCammon (Exit 47) ID. https://saltlakeexpress.com/ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDriving\n\n\n\nLava Hot Springs is south of Idaho Falls/Pocatello\, and north of Salt Lake city off of I25. \n\n\n\nTurn East at McCammon to US 30. 11 minute drive. \n\n\n\n\n\nTo the Tent From Lava \n\n\n\nGPS should take you to the campsite: 13293 S. Smith Canyon Road\, Lava Hot Springs\, Idaho. Here’s directions from downtown Lava: \n\n\n\nHead west on W Main St/Maughan Rd toward Center St — 0.3 mi \n\n\n\nTurn left onto 4th Ave W/E Merrick Rd – 1.6 mi \n\n\n\nTurn right onto S Dempsey Creek Rd/E Merrick Rd — 0.4 mi \n\n\n\nTurn left onto S Dempsey Creek Rd — 1.2 mi \n\n\n\nTurn right onto S Newbold Rd/S Smith Canyon Rd — 1.2 mi \n\n\n\nLook for a rustic gateway\, to the right\, with 13293. Over a two-track culvert into the yard. We’ll put out signs. \n\n\n\nThere is cell phone service at the site and you can text Wayne at 208-756-8137 if you need assistance. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLodging\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCamp on Site\n\n\n\n\nWe are camping up in the cool trees in Smith Canyon. There is lots of room for tent and car camping. Space for RVs is limited. It’s a bit tight to turn around. If you have a big rig\, or want hookups\, we recommend Smith’s Trout Haven just a few miles away. \n\n\n\nThe well at the location is not working\, so bring your own water. We’ll have a solar shower available. Best showers and bathing is down in the hot pools in town! It’s hot in the day\, but delightfully cool in the evenings after our last dance session. \n\n\n\nCars/Vans: Plan on your spot not being exactly flat. You’ll be able to get level for sleeping if you have some leveling blocks. Lots of shade in the trees. \n\n\n\nTents: Your tent will likely be not exactly flat… so plan for your own comfort. Plenty of spots in the cool shade. \n\n\n\nMotel: One of our best recommendations for a motel in Lava is the Auro Soma Lava Hotel & Spa. It’s the location of the labrynth\, and if you stay there you get to soak in their most amazing pool. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nCabin Rooms: \n\n\n\nThere are five rooms available in Kim’s cabin. It’s rustic and the running water is not working at this time. But it’s an adventure! The toilet can flush with carted-in. The shower also drains. It’s a rustic cabin. You must book your spot with Zareen and Wayne. Bring your own bedding. \n\n\n\n\nMotels\n\n\n\nLava has many motels to choose from. The Chamber of Commerce website for Lava has listings of all the local motels. http://www.lavahotsprings.org \n\n\n\nThere is a full service RV campground a few miles from camp: Smiths Trout Haven \n\n\n\nWe recommend the Auro Soma Lava Hotel & Spa. The motel complex that used to be called Auro Soma\, with the big private hot pool\, is now the Lava hotel. https://thelavahotel.com/. If you stay there you get free use of the private pool. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFood\n\n\n\nAll meals are do-it-yourself. You’ll discover that everyone loves to share and eat together. There are restaurants in town and we’ll have plenty of room near the tent for camping kitchens. Bring your own water. \n\n\n\nHope to see you soon!\n\n\n\nContact: The Mystic Dance Caravan Lava Team\n\n\n\nConnie Zareen (208) 756-3076 \n\n\n\nWayne Talmadge (208) 756-8137 \n\n\n\n\nSign Up Now!

Each dance is taught in place: we are given a short song easy steps and the meaning (or attunement) of what we are doing. Then we move! We do songs from a wide variety of sources: native Christianity Judaism or eastern Sufi practices. Often they are simple chants or inspiring poems. \n\n\n\nThe magic is the circle. Each person (you included) is what creates this magic. Humans evolved singing and celebrating in circle dance. As soon as you step into the circle you’ll know you are home. \n\n\n\nWhat’s it Like? Dancing with us is like joining a tribe. When we first come together we often don’t know each other’s names but become immediate brothers and sisters. The music brings us together. The camp is held by elder wisdom with experienced leaders who have been doing this for over thirty years. Often something new like this can be uncomfortable but we know how to bring you in with a smooth transition from aloneness to togetherness. There is an essence in every human being that yearns for togetherness. We use our feet simple music and ancient wisdom to create a moving space of heart. \n\n\n\nIt doesn’t matter what you wear… just as long as you are there! \n\n\n\n\nFrom Zareen: My goal for this camp is to provide an inexpensive space where we can all come together sing dance and dive deeper into new possibilities. We are intertwined with the traditions of the world and each other. Most importantly we use this time to recreate ourselves into co-creating relatives of the world rather than individual consumers. The overall vision is to come alive in new ways and jumpstart a dynamic participation in life that transforms the world… in other words: Sam Lewis’s Peace Project. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n— LOCALS COME FREE!\n\n\n\nUse coupon code: LOCAL \n\n\n\nDonation appreciated. Founded by Bernie and Adrianna Heideman\, it has become a unique tradition attracting a diverse attendance from North America and Canada during those countries’ winter months\, and acting as a connecting event with dancers and Dance leaders in Mexico. The camp also features many offerings from the community that facilitate a deepening experience of connection and the sacred with art\, qigong\, singing circles\, meditation\, kirtan\, cacao ceremonies\, philosophical discussions and of course the beloved Rumi Cafe.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s face it\, it is often fear of the unknown that prevents us from taking the first step towards an adventure. I thought if I made the water a little less muddy\, you might be inclined to join us dancing on the sand\, wading in the ocean\, relaxing on the beach\, and enjoying the local cuisine. Here goes….. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow do you get there? \n\n\n\nPuerto Morelos is 40km south and accessed from the airport of the resort town of Cancun (CUN).  \n\n\n\nOnce you get there all you have to do is get to the dance camp. My experience is that there are a couple ways to get to either of these camps; taxi\, shuttle or find another dancer going there that will share a ride with you. I have taken advantage of all of these ways and usually it isn’t very expensive.  \n\n\n\nOut of Cancun you can catch a shuttle. There is  a company CANCUN \n\n\n\nSHUTTLE contact@cancunshuttle.com and they have vans that will shuttle just you or a bunch of folks down to Puerto Morelos and it is really cheap if it’s split between riders. Again\, I spent 600₽ ($35US) the last time I was down there. And of course you can find other people who are arriving at the same time and ride share that way too.  \n\n\n\nSpeaking the Language \n\n\n\nDon’t worry so much about speaking the language. Yes\, it is awesome if you know and understand Spanish but don’t let it be a roadblock to your adventure. Google translate is a wonderful app that you can install on your phone and then use it to help you; ask directions\, find the right words\, and help you communicate when you need it. English is also widely understood especially in Puerto Morelos.  \n\n\n\nWhen you are with the dance community at the event\, there is no doubt you will be doing things\, eating out and wondering about with people who are familiar with the area or know enough of the language to help. \n\n\n\nMoney \n\n\n\nOnce you get to town there are ATM machines that will give you Peso’s at a fairly good exchange rate but will also charge a small fee just for using the ATM. No doubt you have experienced this when you use ATMs in cities that don’t have your bank branch. Also give your bank a heads up that you will be traveling so they don’t pull an unexpected prank and freeze your card. See the video below about exchange rates. \n\n\n\nHow much will you need? That all depends on how much you want to spend. There are grocery stores to buy the food you need if you have a refrigerator and cook facilities in your lodging.  \n\n\n\nLodging \n\n\n\nCamp staff has rented a full motel on the beach this year. So lodging is as easy as contacting the registrar. Bring-your-own-roommate and cost is quite low. \n\n\n\nDancing \n\n\n\nYou can expect 60-80 people at camp. If you’ve been to any dance circles with us you’ll be sure to immediately see people you know. Dancing in this field of love is an amazing experience with fabulous leaders.  \n\n\n\nSpread the love!
