Location: Lava Senior Center

We dance once a year in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.

If you need any help planning your travels to Lava Hot Springs please check out the Lava Chamber of Commerce. We don’t supply shuttles to camp from the airport, but can help coordinate.

Motels

Rooms are not included in the retreat package, so make sure you have your motel reservations set up. The Chamber of Commerce website for Lava has listings of all the local motels. http://www.lavahotsprings.org/(link is external

There is a KOA campground right across the road from the Senior Center where lots of our folks like to stay. When you register make sure you are getting the KOA in downtown Lava near on the river’s edge: https://riversedge-rv.com/ (208) 285-7110

House Stays

We have a cabin five miles out of town with several bedrooms available, and we usually have groups of people getting houses together in town. Join our Mystic Dance Caravaneers group on Facebook for a secure place to meet fellow dancers and coordinate rides and room sharing.

Arrival & Schedule

We dance in the Senior Citizen’s Center, which is the first building you come to after you exit the highway into town. It is a large cinder block building on your left.  We are allowed into the Center at 3 p.m. on Friday; if you arrive early come on in and help us set up!

Food

Meals are provided for the retreat through a variety of community cooking and pre-prepared dishes. We’ll have a potluck dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. If you have special food needs be sure to contact the registrar so we can arrange for you to bring and share your particular goodies.

The meals are all vegetarian with a meat dish on the side Saturday night.

Musicians

As you arrive at camp please let us know about your musicianship! We coordinate experienced leaders into our Saturday and Sunday morning sessions, and also have a dance/music training time on Saturday afternoon. We want to know how to help you in your local circle!

Departure

We will eat, dance and pray together through the weekend with plenty of time for soaking in the hot springs. Camp will be over on Sunday at noon. We’ll have a sack lunch available.

It is helpful if you can help us pack up. We have to leave the place cleaner than we found it and vacated by 2pm.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Thanks
